We lead and support a wide range of initiatives across Merseyside all with the single aim of reducing and preventing violence.

Youth Empowerment Scheme (YES)

Our Youth Empowerment Scheme (YES) is focused on giving young people in the areas which have seen the highest levels of violence and the biggest cuts to youth services access to better opportunities to prevent them getting involved in trouble.
Fire Champions

This flagship MVRP programme gives children across Merseyside the chance to embark on a six-week programme focused on keeping them safe.
Mentors in Violence Prevention

This peer-to-peer leadership and bystander schools programme allows young people to discuss a range of social issues and gives them the tools to challenge the behaviour, language and mindsets that can act as a trigger for crime.
Navigators

Operating in Merseyside’s three busiest Accident & Emergency departments, this pioneering project sees specially trained youth workers team up with hospital staff to identify young people affected by serious violence.
Time to Thrive

Having a loved one in prison is traumatic for children and can often result in stigma. Through this programme, we work with children who have a parent in prison to support them and try to reduce the impact.
Trauma informed training

Merseyside’s Violence Reduction Partnership runs trauma informed training focused on supporting public sector organisations to understand how psychological trauma can impact individuals and ensure they consider the implications for their services.
Beacon

Our Beacon project is an innovative alternative skills course, giving children an insight into what it’s like to be a life-saving first responder.
